Budget Variation and Welfare in Cameroon: a Computable General Equilibrium Model Approach

The objective of this paper is to determine the impact a variation in government spending on well-being population Cameroon. We use Computable General Equilibrium Model (CGEM) developed by Decaluwé et al., [1] calibrated 2016 Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) for Cameroon [1]. This SAM constructed from Resources and Uses Table (RUT) national accounts data National Institute Statistics [2]. welfare measured equivalent indicator. results show that 20% increase public expenditure would contribute improving salaried households capitalist 883.58 billion CFAF 5.47 respectively. improvement wellbeing achieved through reduction current price goods services various sectors (0.76% agriculture, 0.53% industry, 0.76% 0.57% services) one hand, an household income other, whether they are or earners.
